About This Position
Job Summary
Angi is seeking a Temporary Payroll Accountant to manage US and Canadian payroll operations in Indianapolis, Marion County. This full‑time contract role offers a competitive annual salary of $83,576.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi‑weekly payroll for US and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state/provincial and local regulations.
- Maintain payroll records, reconcile payroll journals, and prepare related reports for finance and audit teams.
- Coordinate with HR to manage new hires, terminations, benefits deductions, and wage garnishments.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with year‑end activities, including W‑2, 1099, T4 and other statutory filings.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Identify process improvements and support implementation of payroll automation tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of hands‑on payroll processing experience, preferably with both US and Canadian payroll.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Ceridian) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with multi‑state US payroll and multi‑province Canadian payroll.
- Exposure to HRIS integrations and payroll tax compliance.
- Professional certification such as CPP or CPA.
