About This Position

Technical Manager, Construction Interface at WSP Canada in Ottawa, Ottawa region. Lead the CENTRUS program by aligning technical design with construction execution and acting as the senior technical liaison for PSPC construction managers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bridge technical design and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery for the CENTRUS program.
  • Serve as WSP’s senior technical counterpart to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) construction managers, construction management (CM) partners, design‑assist trades, and senior client representatives.
  • Develop and maintain interface documentation, coordination protocols, and issue‑resolution processes.
  • Provide technical guidance, review design deliverables, and ensure compliance with project standards, codes, and client requirements.
  • Lead multidisciplinary workshops, constructability reviews, and value‑engineering sessions.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify technical risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with project controls, health & safety, and quality teams to integrate technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in large‑scale infrastructure or building projects, with a strong focus on construction interface management.
  • Proven experience working on government or public‑sector projects, preferably with PSPC.
  • Deep understanding of design‑assist, design‑build, and traditional delivery methods.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong problem‑solving aptitude and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency with BIM/CAD tools and project management software.
