Job Summary

Westchester Medical Center is seeking a seasoned System Engineer III to join its IT team in East View, Westchester County, US. This senior role provides top‑tier support, leads complex projects, and serves as the subject‑matter expert for data‑center, server, cloud, storage, and database technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead resolution of high‑complexity support tickets and incidents across WMC data centers.
• Design, implement, and maintain server, virtualization, cloud, and storage infrastructures.
• Architect and optimize database platforms and related services.
• Collaborate with WMC Security teams to enforce compliance, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Drive major IT projects from planning through deployment, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures, technical guides, and knowledge‑base articles.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as the escalation point for technical challenges.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and reliability; recommend upgrades and improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, data‑center operations, or cloud environments.
• Deep expertise with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong knowledge of storage solutions (SAN, NAS), backup/recovery, and database administration (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
• Proven experience working with security frameworks, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and compliance standards (HIPAA, NIST).
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as MCSE, VMware VCP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or CISSP.
• Automation experience with PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk).

Compensation

Salary range: $115,861.03 annually.
