System Administrator (Network and Cybersecurity) – Client Delivery

Join Malleum as a System Administrator (Network and Cybersecurity) on the Client Delivery team, based in Ottawa, Ottawa region. This hybrid role blends on‑site client engagements with remote work, supporting high‑impact cyber‑defense projects for government, defense and critical infrastructure customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers, network devices and security appliances at client sites.
• Monitor network traffic, detect anomalies and respond to security incidents in real time.
• Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS and endpoint protection solutions.
• Provide Tier‑2/3 support for client infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with client IT teams and Malleum consultants to design resilient architectures aligned with national security standards.
• Document system configurations, procedures and incident reports following best‑practice frameworks.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to handle emergency outages and cyber‑threats.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of hands‑on system administration in network and cybersecurity environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP and VPN technologies.
• Experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms and endpoint detection tools.
• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and incident response.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and client‑facing skills.
