About This Position
The Defense Logistics Agency is hiring a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist in Cherry Point, Craven County, US. This role leads the Material Management Cell and acts as the supply chain manager for DLA Aviation industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Material Management Cell Chief, overseeing all inventory and material handling activities.
- Represent DLA Aviation as the primary supply chain manager at the assigned industrial site.
- Coordinate and supervise support for fleet readiness center production lines and groups.
- Maintain and develop cross‑agency relationships to secure timely availability of parts and supplies.
- Monitor and manage sources of supply, ensuring assets are issued efficiently when required.
- Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices for inventory control and material accountability.
- Prepare reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for senior leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of inventory and logistics personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant experience in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain within a defense or aerospace environment.
- Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience managing a logistics team.
- Strong knowledge of material management systems and federal acquisition regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑agency collaboration.
- Ability to analyze data, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels.
- Eligibility for telework as defined by DLA policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DLA Aviation or other Department of Defense logistics operations.
- Certification such as CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with automated inventory management software.
Compensation
Salary range: $50,789.23 annually.
