Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heart‑lung machines and other extracorporeal circulation equipment during cardiac surgeries.
- Monitor patient physiological variables and adjust perfusion parameters to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff throughout procedures.
- Prepare and prime circuits, perform equipment checks, and document all perfusion data accurately.
- Respond to emergency situations and participate in on‑call duties as scheduled.
- Provide patient education pre‑ and post‑operatively regarding perfusion processes.
- Contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduates of an accredited perfusion technology program.
- Current certification as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Minimum of 1‑2 years of clinical perfusion experience, preferably in a cardiac surgery setting.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and extracorporeal circulation principles.
