About This Position
Job Summary
Ashby is seeking a proactive Staff IT Engineer to join its rapidly expanding team in Canada. This senior technical role will drive automation, support, and infrastructure initiatives for a fast‑growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable IT infrastructure across cloud and on‑premise environments.
- Lead automation projects using scripting and configuration‑management tools to improve efficiency.
- Provide tier‑2/3 technical support to internal users, ensuring rapid resolution of complex issues.
- Collaborate with the IT Manager to develop and enforce security policies, backup strategies, and disaster‑recovery plans.
- Mentor junior IT staff and contribute to building a high‑performing IT team.
- Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and recommend upgrades.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to keep Ashby at the forefront of IT innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in systems engineering, network administration, or cloud operations.
- Proficiency with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Nagios) and ITIL‑based service management.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: CAD 170,000 – 240,000, competitive benefits package, professional development budget, and flexible work arrangements.
