Staff Accountant – ComEd (Hybrid)

Job Summary
Exelon is seeking a Staff Accountant for its ComEd operations at the Fox Valley Facility in DuPage County, Illinois. This hybrid role blends on‑site collaboration with remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and post monthly journal entries for the ComEd business unit.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, consolidations, and regulatory reports.
- Perform variance analysis and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Coordinate with internal auditors and external audit teams to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely closing.
- Support month‑end and quarter‑end close cycles, including preparation of footnotes and disclosures.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the utility or energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $82,171.41 annually (fixed). Exelon offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and paid time off.
