About This Position

Job Summary

ClearEdge is seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join its Jessup, Howard County, US office. This role supports critical Department of Defense (DoD) programs by delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, month‑end close, and financial statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and cost allocations for engineering projects.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for multiple contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD regulations, GAAP, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external auditors to resolve financial issues.
  • Support internal audits and prepare documentation for government audits.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in corporate accounting, preferably with government contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and federal acquisition regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $77,937.78 annually (fixed). ClearEdge offers a competitive benefits package including a $10,000 annual training and education allowance, 10% company match on 401(k), health, dental, vision, paid time off, and more.
