Job Summary
RWE Americas is hiring a Sr Director, External Communications in Washington, D.C., US. This senior leader will design and execute the company’s external communications strategy across the United States, protecting brand reputation and influencing key stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the corporate external communications plan aligned with business objectives.
- Craft and deliver messaging for media, government, investors, and community audiences.
- Manage crisis communications, media relations, and proactive reputation‑building initiatives.
- Oversee a team of communications professionals, providing mentorship and performance guidance.
- Collaborate with senior executives to ensure consistent brand voice across all public channels.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and public sentiment to adjust strategies swiftly.
- Prepare and present executive briefings, speeches, and thought‑leadership content.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in external communications, public affairs, or corporate communications.
- Proven track record leading large‑scale communication programs for a multinational organization.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience speaking to media and policymakers.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and crisis‑management abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual base salary: $191,268.45 (exempt). Comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Location
Washington, D.C., United States – onsite role with occasional travel.
