Job Summary

Actalent is seeking a Sr. Biopharmaceutical Processing Technician to join its team in Wellston, Saint Louis County, US. This hands‑on role focuses on upstream cell culture and large‑scale biomanufacturing of biologic medicines in a cGMP‑regulated cleanroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor large‑scale bioreactors for upstream cell culture processes, ensuring optimal growth conditions and product quality.
• Perform sterile connections, media preparation, inoculation, and harvest procedures following cGMP SOPs.
• Execute routine equipment cleaning, decontamination, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Collect, document, and analyze in‑process data; troubleshoot deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Support technology transfer projects and scale‑up activities from pilot to commercial scale.
• Maintain accurate batch records, electronic logs, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including process development, quality assurance, and engineering.
• Participate in training of junior technicians and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in bioprocessing, biotechnology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in upstream cell culture within a cGMP environment.
• Proficiency with large‑scale bioreactor systems (e.g., 10 kL–2 ML) and sterile technique.
• Strong understanding of biologics manufacturing, cell line management, and process control.
• Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with FDA/EMA regulations.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom (ISO 7/8) and adhere to safety protocols.
• Effective communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities.
