Job Summary

Core Specialty Insurance Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Accountant – Investments to join its finance team in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, US. This role ensures accurate investment accounting and GAAP reporting for six insurance entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile data in Clearwater investment accounting software.
• Record investment transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and statutory requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly GAAP financial reports.
• Support quarterly statutory reporting for six standalone insurance companies.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and account analysis.
• Collaborate with the investment team to resolve data discrepancies and improve reporting efficiency.
• Provide ad‑hoc analysis and financial insights for senior management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in investment accounting, preferably within insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with Clearwater investment accounting system; experience with general ledger software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and tight deadlines.

Annual salary: $96,556.2
