Job Summary

Jelly Technical is seeking a Specification Technologist for a fully remote, 3‑month fixed‑term contract with a £40,500 salary. The role supports a multi‑site food manufacturer in the UK, focusing on raw material specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update internal specification spreadsheets for all raw materials.
• Collaborate with procurement, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure specifications meet regulatory and safety standards.
• Conduct supplier audits and assess material compliance against company standards.
• Provide technical guidance on ingredient functionality, shelf‑life, and formulation impacts.
• Analyse specification deviations and drive corrective actions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Specification Technologist or similar role within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of raw material properties, food safety regulations (e.g., FSMA, EU Food Law), and supplier management.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data‑management tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
