Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between the Assistant State Attorney and crime victims, ensuring clear, compassionate communication.
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and ongoing supportive counseling to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments and develop individualized service plans.
- Coordinate referrals to medical, legal, shelter, and mental‑health resources within Broward County.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case files and documentation in compliance with state regulations.
- Prepare victim impact statements and assist victims in navigating the criminal justice process.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, social service agencies, and community partners to enhance victim services.
- Participate in outreach, education, and training initiatives for staff and the public.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2 years experience providing direct services to victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
- Demonstrated ability to build empathetic, non‑judgmental relationships with diverse populations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly to victims, attorneys, and partners.
- Knowledge of local resources, victim‑rights statutes, and court procedures in Florida.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case‑management software.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional site visits.
