Job Summary

PNC is seeking a Software Engineer Lead – Mainframe for its Retail/Deposit team. This full‑time role is based in the United States and offers a competitive salary of $75,871.57.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications supporting retail banking and deposit services.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices for COBOL, CICS, DB2, and related technologies.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of mission‑critical mainframe systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proficiency in COBOL, PL/I, CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
• Strong understanding of retail banking processes, especially deposit accounts.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines for mainframe environments.

• Exposure to cloud integration (e.g., AWS, Azure) with mainframe workloads.
