Job Summary
PNC is seeking a Software Engineer Lead – Lending Technology (Payments) to join its team in Birmingham, Jefferson County, US. This leadership role focuses on designing, developing, and guiding payment‑related lending software solutions while mentoring a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full software development lifecycle for payment processing components within the Lending Technology portfolio.
- Architect scalable, secure, and high‑performance solutions that integrate with core banking systems.
- Mentor and coach a team of software engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering agile best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, QA, and operations to define requirements, prioritize backlogs, and ensure timely delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, DevOps pipelines, and performance monitoring.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards such as PCI‑DSS and relevant banking regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or technical‑lead role.
- Proficiency in Java, C#, or Python and modern frameworks (e.g., Spring, .NET Core).
- Hands‑on experience with payment gateways, APIs, and transaction processing.
- Strong understanding of microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
