Software Development Manager

Daniels Health is hiring a Software Development Manager in Chicago, Cook County to lead a team of five developers building and maintaining in‑house software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a small agile development team of five engineers.
• Design, develop, test and deploy high‑quality software that supports core business operations.
• Integrate applications with Daniels Health’s Databricks Data Lakehouse to enable data‑driven functionality.
• Collaborate with product owners, data scientists and IT operations to define requirements and delivery timelines.
• Ensure code quality, security standards and best‑practice development processes (CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing).
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement of the software stack.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven ability to manage small, agile teams and deliver complex projects on schedule.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and cloud platforms.
• Experience integrating solutions with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar data lakehouse technologies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
