Lumen is seeking a skilled Software Developer II to join its innovative team in Terre Haute. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance applications that power Lumen’s global connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable software designs.
- Write clean, efficient, and testable code in Java, C#, or Python, adhering to Lumen’s coding standards.
- Perform code reviews, debug complex issues, and optimize application performance.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
- Maintain and enhance existing services, ensuring high availability and security.
- Contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to improve product functionality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in object‑oriented programming and modern frameworks.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Solid understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.

Compensation & Benefits
