GovCIO is seeking an experienced SME System Administrator to support mission‑critical applications for the U.S. Coast Guard. This fully remote, United States Secret‑cleared role is based in Uptown, Marion County, US, with a salary of $110,796.76 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mission‑enabling applications in line with the Software Lifecycle Management Plan (SLMP).
• Provide expert system administration for rapid delivery of functional applications and automated workflows.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot servers, virtual environments, and network services.
• Implement security controls, patches, and updates to ensure compliance with federal standards.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain documentation, change logs, and performance metrics for continuous improvement.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and incident response for high‑availability systems.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Secret security clearance (active or able to obtain).
• 5+ years of system administration experience in a federal or defense environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Experience with ITIL/ITSM processes and configuration management tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Experience supporting maritime or Coast Guard applications.
