About This Position
Job Summary
MongoDB is hiring a Senior or Staff Site Reliability Engineer for the Atlas platform, based in Five Points, Wake County, US. This role can be hybrid at our NYC HQ or fully remote within Eastern or Central time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable infrastructure for MongoDB Atlas.
- Own end‑to‑end reliability of services, including incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortem creation.
- Collaborate with Atlas software engineering teams to integrate reliability best practices into the development lifecycle.
- Automate operations using IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/alerting tools.
- Mentor junior SREs and contribute to technical roadmaps and architecture decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in site reliability, DevOps, or systems engineering.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Deep understanding of networking, databases, and distributed systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to operate autonomously.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Compensation
Salary: $104,207.97 per year.

Five Points, Wake County, US – hybrid or remote (Eastern/Central time zones).
