Job Summary

Citian is seeking a Senior Transportation Consultant to join its fast‑growing SaaS team in Washington, D.C. This role combines deep transportation expertise with cutting‑edge software solutions to improve road, rail, transit, bicycle and pedestrian systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead client engagements from concept through implementation, delivering data‑driven recommendations that reduce traffic fatalities and improve pedestrian accessibility.
• Collaborate with product engineers to translate transportation challenges into software features and analytics tools.
• Conduct traffic modeling, safety audits, and multimodal assessments for public agencies and private operators.
• Prepare and present technical reports, visualizations, and cost‑benefit analyses to stakeholders and decision‑makers.
• Mentor junior consultants, sharing best practices in transportation planning, GIS, and data science.
• Stay current on federal, state, and local transportation regulations and emerging mobility technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation consulting, traffic safety analysis, or multimodal planning.
• Proficiency with transportation software (e.g., VISSIM, Synchro, Aimsun, GIS platforms) and data analytics tools (Python, R, SQL).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Proven track record of managing client projects, budgets, and timelines.
