Senior Technical Program Liaison
About This Position
National Radio Astronomy Observatory is hiring a Senior Technical Program Liaison to support its cutting‑edge astronomy projects across multiple U.S. sites, including Cass, Pocahontas County, WV.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage complex technical programs spanning software development, instrumentation, and data pipelines.
- Serve as the primary liaison between engineering teams, scientific staff, and external partners.
- Develop program schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans to ensure milestones are met.
- Facilitate cross‑site communication among NRAO locations in Socorro, NM; Albuquerque, NM; and Green Bank, WV.
- Prepare technical reports, status updates, and presentations for senior leadership and funding agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field (CPP preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management within a research or scientific environment.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering processes, agile methodologies, and scientific instrumentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to travel between NRAO sites as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with radio astronomy instrumentation or large‑scale data processing pipelines.
- Familiarity with grant and federal funding compliance.
Compensation & Benefits
