Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive tax planning and compliance services for estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters.
- Collaborate closely with the firm’s attorneys to develop tax‑efficient strategies for clients’ wealth preservation goals.
- Prepare and review complex tax returns, including fiduciary, estate, and high‑income individual filings.
- Lead client meetings, explain tax implications, and answer technical questions in a clear, client‑focused manner.
- Supervise and mentor junior accountants, reviewing workpapers and ensuring adherence to professional standards.
- Stay current on federal and state tax law changes affecting estates, trusts, and high‑net‑worth individuals.
- Assist with tax aspects of charitable giving, business succession, and multi‑generational wealth transfer.
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA license in Illinois (or ability to obtain).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax, estate planning, probate, or trust administration.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Illinois estate and trust tax regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and a client‑service orientation.
- Proficiency with tax software (e.g., CCH, UltraTax) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple complex projects.
