Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer – Java Full Stack at Cognizant in Cedar, Cole County, US. Lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure claims applications using Java, Spring Boot, micro‑services and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain full‑stack Java applications, focusing on claims processing systems.
- Implement RESTful APIs, micro‑service architectures and cloud‑native solutions (AWS/Azure).
- Modernize legacy codebases while ensuring seamless integration with new platforms.
- Collaborate with product owners, QA, DevOps and UI/UX teams to deliver high‑performance features.
- Write clean, test‑driven code and conduct code reviews to uphold best practices.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in Java full‑stack development.
- Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Hibernate, and REST API design.
- Hands‑on experience with front‑end frameworks (Angular, React or Vue.js).
- Proficiency in micro‑service patterns, Docker/Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
- Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and performance tuning.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Knowledge of security standards (OAuth2, JWT, OWASP).
- Familiarity with domain‑driven design and event‑driven architecture.
Compensation
Annual salary: $133,468.97
