About This Position
Job Summary
Oracle is hiring a Senior Software Developer in Five Points, Wake County, US to lead the design and development of core components for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end software design, implementation, and delivery of major cloud infrastructure services.
- Write clean, high‑performance code across the full stack, from low‑level system modules to distributed APIs.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and fellow engineers in an agile environment to define requirements and release schedules.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable distributed systems that meet security, reliability, and performance standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices for testing and documentation.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to architectural roadmaps.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably with cloud platforms.
- Strong proficiency in at least one systems language (e.g., Java, C++, Go, Rust) and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts: consensus algorithms, fault tolerance, networking, and storage.
- Experience with containerization, micro‑services, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud‑native tooling.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems, write maintainable code, and work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or other public cloud services.
- Knowledge of Linux kernel internals, virtualization, or hardware‑accelerated computing.
- Familiarity with performance profiling, monitoring, and observability tools.
Compensation
Annual salary: $193,581.58 (fixed rate).
