CSC Recruitment Ltd is hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Tier 1 main contractor in Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn, offering a competitive salary of £75,000‑£95,000. This role provides full commercial ownership of a major education scheme and a platform for future regional project leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Take complete commercial responsibility for the delivery of a large‑scale education construction programme.
- Prepare, evaluate and negotiate tender documents, bills of quantities and final accounts.
- Manage cost control, value engineering and risk assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with design teams, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure financial targets are met.
- Produce regular cost reports, forecasts and cash‑flow statements for senior management.
- Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to the development of best‑practice procedures within the regional team.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified chartered quantity surveyor (RICS or equivalent) with at least 7 years’ experience on commercial construction projects.
- Proven track record on large education or public‑sector schemes.
- Strong knowledge of UK construction law, NEC contracts and procurement routes.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while driving collaborative team performance.
