Job Summary

NEW BEDFORD PANORAMEX CORP. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design/Draftsperson in Claremont, Los Angeles County. This role supports both pre‑sale and post‑sale electrical aerospace projects while applying advanced mechanical engineering expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for aerospace mechanical components using CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate mechanical designs with aerospace electrical systems.
• Provide technical support during the sales process, including design feasibility studies and cost estimations.
• Generate production‑ready documentation, bill of materials, and assembly instructions.
• Conduct design reviews, perform tolerance analysis, and ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, NASA, MIL‑SPEC).
• Support post‑sale activities such as field troubleshooting, design modifications, and customer training.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace applications.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on mechanical design experience in the aerospace or defense sector.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools and familiarity with GD&T principles.
• Strong understanding of electrical‑mechanical integration for aerospace systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional teamwork and customer interaction.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $79,745.94 annually (fixed). Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plan options, and paid time off.
