Job Summary

Foundation Specialty Finance is seeking a Senior Loan Originator to join its growing team. This full‑time, exempt role is remote‑first with the option to work from the corporate office in Seal Beach, Orange County, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate, underwrite, and close commercial real‑estate loan transactions from prospecting through funding.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified borrowers, brokers, and referral partners.
• Conduct thorough credit analysis, risk assessment, and financial modeling to determine loan suitability.
• Collaborate with Special Servicing, Credit, and Legal teams to structure customized financing solutions.
• Present loan proposals to senior management and investors, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging financing products to keep the firm’s offerings competitive.
• Mentor junior originators and contribute to the development of best‑practice processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial real‑estate loan origination or related finance roles.
• Proven track record of closing high‑value loan deals (>$5M).
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial statements, cash‑flow modeling, and underwriting software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong ties to the Seal Beach office.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Compensation & Benefits
