Senior Inventory Accountant
About This Position
Sunrock is seeking a Senior Inventory Accountant for its Raleigh, Wake County, NC office. This full‑time, salaried role focuses on managing inventory accounting for aggregates and construction materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and reconcile inventory balances for aggregates, sand, gravel, and related construction materials.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year‑end inventory reports for the Director of Accounting & Compliance.
- Maintain accurate cost accounting records and support pricing analysis for project bids.
- Coordinate physical inventory counts, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation related to inventory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of inventory accounting experience, preferably in aggregates or construction materials.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted‑average).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
