About This Position
Senior Electrical Engineer role in Plymouth, South West England offering £57,000 salary and hybrid working (2‑3 days remote). Join a leading dockyard infrastructure team and drive electrical design projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with the client to capture project requirements and translate them into robust electrical engineering solutions.
- Define project scope, produce detailed schematics, calculations and specifications for new builds, upgrades and retro‑fits.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments and cost‑benefit analyses for infrastructure enhancements.
- Lead site inspections, commissioning and testing activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates and documentation for stakeholder approval.
Required Skills & Experience
- Qualified Electrical Engineer (MEng or BEng) with professional registration (e.g., IET Chartered Engineer) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial or marine electrical engineering, ideally within dockyard or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in CAD/E‑CAD tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN) and power system analysis software.
- Strong knowledge of UK electrical codes, BS7671, IEC standards and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
