Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

Metrc, LLC is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Lakeland, Polk County, US. This role will lead the design, automation, and scaling of our cannabis regulatory platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple micro‑service applications.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) on AWS and Azure.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and security; develop alerting and incident response processes.
• Collaborate with software engineering, QA, and product teams to streamline release cycles and improve deployment velocity.
• Mentor junior DevOps staff and promote best practices in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud cost optimization.
• Ensure compliance with state‑level cannabis regulations and data‑security standards.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on DevOps experience in cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems, scripting (Python, Bash), and version control (Git).
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Extensive experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and container registries.
• Strong understanding of networking, security groups, IAM, and VPN configurations.
• Experience with monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and incident management.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑growing, regulated industry.

Preferred Experience

• Background in the cannabis or highly regulated sectors.
• Certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with RFID integration and traceability solutions.

Compensation & Benefits
