Senior Data Platform Engineer – Cloud GenAI Enablement

NavitasPartners is hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This contract/full‑time role focuses on building cloud‑based data platforms that power AI/ML and Generative AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud data architectures on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Implement data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes to support enterprise AI and GenAI workloads.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to enable self‑service analytics.
• Optimize performance, security, and cost of data platforms.
• Automate deployment and monitoring using IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience building cloud data platforms and analytics solutions.
• Strong expertise in data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and big‑data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Databricks).
• Proficiency with programming/scripting languages such as Python, SQL, and Scala.
• Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Understanding of AI/ML lifecycle and GenAI model integration.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with MLOps platforms (MLflow, Kubeflow).
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.

Compensation

Annual salary: $83,200 (CAD) – contract/full‑time.
