Job Summary

Random Bit is seeking a Senior AWS Solution Architect to lead cloud‑native initiatives in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County. This role combines technical leadership with hands‑on architecture to design, prototype, and guide high‑quality AWS solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and subject‑matter expertise to development teams building cloud‑native applications on AWS.
• Design end‑to‑end solution architectures, ensuring scalability, security, cost‑optimization, and compliance.
• Create prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts to validate component interoperability and establish reusable patterns.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and DevOps to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and best‑practice guidelines.
• Mentor junior architects and engineers, conducting code reviews and technical workshops.
• Stay current with AWS services, emerging technologies, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years designing solutions on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.).
• Proven experience with micro‑services, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS), serverless architectures, and CI/CD pipelines.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data engineering tools (Redshift, Athena, Glue) and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).
• Background in financial services or regulated industries.

Compensation

Salary: $141,107.45 per year (fixed).
