Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Empowered Staffing is seeking a Senior Accountant in Dallas, Texas to lead day‑to‑day financial operations for a high‑volume metal recycling company. The role includes managing accounts receivable and payable, performing reconciliations, and supporting monthly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee high‑volume AR and AP processes, including invoice entry, payment receipt, and vendor payments.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate general ledger maintenance.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and year‑end reconciliations of balance‑sheet accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, forecast cash needs, and support budgeting activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and improve financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in high‑volume or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of AR/AP cycles, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication abilities.

Compensation & Benefits
