NS2 Mission is seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join its fast‑growing government contracting team in Chantilly, Fairfax County. This high‑impact role will manage the full spectrum of accounting functions supporting mission‑critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with FAR and DCAA regulations.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate and support government contract billing, cost accumulation, and indirect rate calculations.
• Prepare audit schedules, respond to internal and external auditors, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and monitor internal controls, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for program managers.
• Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on technical accounting issues and professional development.
• Collaborate with procurement, project management, and leadership to resolve financial issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in government contracting.
• Strong knowledge of FAR, DCAA, and cost accounting principles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and ethical standards.

Compensation

Salary range: $80,191.32 – $80,191.32 per year.
