Security Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary security engineering team delivering solutions for defense, intelligence, and commercial clients.
• Define and enforce security architecture, standards, and best practices across all projects.
• Collaborate with program managers, developers, and government stakeholders to integrate security controls early in the development lifecycle.
• Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability management for complex systems.
• Oversee incident response planning, testing, and post‑incident analysis.
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and hiring for the security engineering function.
• Stay current with emerging threats, regulations, and technologies, and translate them into actionable guidance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of hands‑on security engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or manager role.
• Deep knowledge of network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), cryptography, and secure software development.
• Proven experience with security frameworks such as NIST, DoD RMF, ISO 27001, and CIA compliance.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, GSEC, CEH, or similar) strongly desired.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning abilities.
