Security Business Analyst (IT) – Remote Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a Security Business Analyst to join Targeted Talent on a remote contract basis. This role focuses on gathering, analysing and documenting cyber security requirements, collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders. Salary range: $166,400 – $187,200 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business owners to elicit and prioritise security‑related requirements.
• Analyse current security posture and identify gaps against industry standards.
• Translate business needs into clear functional and non‑functional specifications for solution design.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and vendors to ensure proposed solutions meet requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including use cases, process flows, risk assessments and test criteria.
• Support project teams during implementation, testing and deployment phases, providing clarifications and change‑control advice.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops, presentations and training sessions as required.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging cyber threats, security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within cyber security or related IT domains.
• Strong understanding of security concepts such as identity & access management, threat modelling, encryption, and incident response.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISA, CCSP, CBAP) are advantageous.

Desirable Attributes

• Experience working remotely with distributed teams.
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA or PCI‑DSS.
