Job Summary
Ochsner Health System is seeking a full‑time RN Staff Neuro ICU for the Shift of Greatest Need at its Jeff Highway location in New Orleans, Orleans Parish. This role offers a competitive annual salary of $152,762.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in the Neuro ICU.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and operate advanced life‑support equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and post‑discharge care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety rounds, and evidence‑based practice projects.
- Maintain compliance with Ochsner policies, state regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Louisiana (or eligible for transfer).
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, preferably in Neuro ICU or similar critical care setting.
- BSN preferred; Associate degree in Nursing acceptable with relevant experience.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and Neurocritical Care Nursing (preferred).
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work the Shift of Greatest Need, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
