About This Position
Job Summary
Ochsner Health is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse – OR/Surgery at its Custom House campus in Orleans Parish, US. This role provides peri‑operative nursing care to surgical patients in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments according to aseptic technique.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and document intra‑operative events accurately.
- Provide post‑anesthesia care, assess recovery status, and coordinate discharge planning.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and staff education programs.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in Louisiana (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Minimum 2 years of peri‑operative nursing experience, preferably in a high‑volume surgical setting.
- BSN preferred; ADN with strong clinical competency considered.
- Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork skills.
Compensation & Benefits
