Job Summary
Ochsner Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units in Chalmette, Saint Bernard Parish, US. This full‑time role offers an advanced compensation package of $83,826.38 annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in Med/Surg and Telemetry settings, including assessments, medication administration, and patient education.
- Monitor telemetry equipment, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond promptly to changes in patient status.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) following Ochsner standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety rounds, and staff education programs.
- Mentor and precept new graduate nurses and nursing assistants.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Louisiana.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience, preferably in Med/Surg and Telemetry.
- BSN preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing accepted.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
