Job Summary
Join Cedars‑Sinai as a Revenue Cycle Specialist II (Physician Billing) in Torrance, Los Angeles County. This full‑time role supports physician billing operations, ensures accurate claim submission, and helps maximize reimbursement for a world‑class health system.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit physician charge entries and claims in compliance with Medicare, Medi‑Cal, and private payer guidelines.
- Perform detailed charge‑capture audits, identify discrepancies, and resolve billing errors promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and the finance team to clarify documentation and optimize coding accuracy.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on denials, and initiate appeals to recover lost revenue.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of payer policies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Generate regular performance reports and recommend process improvements for the revenue cycle.
- Provide training and support to junior billing staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in physician billing or revenue cycle management, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Strong understanding of CPT, HCPCS, ICD‑10 coding and payer-specific billing requirements.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach.
Compensation & Benefits
