About This Position

Job Summary

Join UNC Health Care in Five Points, Wake County as a Revenue Cycle Representative – Patient Accounting. This role supports the financial health of the organization by managing complex insurance claims and maintaining acceptable accounts receivable aging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve outstanding insurance claims with no response, claim edits, or denials.
  • Follow up promptly on unpaid claims to keep A/R aging within acceptable limits.
  • Analyze claim rejections, correct errors, and resubmit to payors.
  • Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient accounting records and update status in the billing system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries.
  • Generate reports on claim performance and aging trends.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in health administration or related field preferred.
  • Experience in medical billing, patient accounting, or revenue cycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and billing software.
  • Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
