Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for patients of all ages in acute and critical care settings.
- Operate and maintain ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and other respiratory equipment.
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare team members on respiratory therapies and home care equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary staff to develop individualized care plans.
- Document all interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response teams.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Louisiana.
- Certification (RRT or CRT) preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork skills.
