About This Position
Ochsner Health System is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (PRN) to join the OUHC Respiratory Therapy team in Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, LA. This part‑time position offers a salary of $55,232.76 annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across acute, critical care, and outpatient settings.
- Perform assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
- Operate and maintain ventilators, oxygen therapy equipment, and other respiratory devices.
- Educate patients and families on breathing techniques, equipment use, and disease management.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document all interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Louisiana.
- Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) – required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory physiology, ventilator management, and airway management.
- Excellent communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible PRN shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
