Job Summary
Join Ochsner Health as a Respiratory Therapist (NICU) and provide critical care to newborns in a renowned healthcare facility. This role is based at Ochsner’s historic campus, where you’ll work alongside dedicated professionals committed to healing and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy services to NICU patients, including ventilator management, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy.
- Assess and monitor newborns’ respiratory status, adjusting treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the NICU team.
- Educate families on respiratory care techniques and equipment use.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and Ochsner’s quality standards.
Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
- Experience in neonatal intensive care or pediatric respiratory care is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
