About This Position
GovCIO is seeking a RES Help Desk Supervisor to work remotely from anywhere in the United States, supporting the Veteran Affairs system. This full‑time role offers a fixed annual salary of $74,253.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Help Desk Engineers, ensuring high‑quality daily support for the Veteran Affairs platform.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues, overseeing troubleshooting, documentation, and resolution.
- Coordinate shift schedules, monitor performance metrics, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Maintain compliance with United States Suitability/Public Trust requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, and other IT stakeholders to improve service delivery.
- Prepare and present status reports, incident trends, and improvement recommendations to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a help desk or technical support environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Active Directory, networking basics, and ticketing systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for remote team coordination.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple incidents and manage service‑level agreements.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting government or healthcare IT systems, especially Veteran Affairs applications.
- ITIL or related service‑management certification.
- Familiarity with remote monitoring tools and security best practices.
