RES eVA Cyber Security Associate (Remote)

GovCIO is seeking a RES eVA Cyber Security Associate to work remotely from anywhere in the United States, supporting the eVA Authority to Operation (ATO) process. This fully remote role offers a salary of $82,548 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ATO documentation, including SSP control narratives, risk assessment inputs, IRP/ISCP sections, and configuration management artifacts.
• Perform daily updates in eMASS, managing POA&M edits, control evidence, and status reporting.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with federal security standards and continuous monitoring requirements.
• Assist in security control testing, vulnerability remediation, and incident response planning.
• Provide guidance on security best practices and contribute to improvement of cybersecurity processes.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
• Experience in federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST RMF, DoD RMF) and eMASS tool usage.
• Strong written communication skills for creating clear security documentation.
• Knowledge of cloud environments, system hardening, and configuration management.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work with eVA or similar electronic veterans affairs systems.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or ASIST.
• Experience with risk assessment, POA&M management, and incident response planning.
