Release Manager (Remote)

GovCIO is seeking a skilled Release Manager to work remotely for the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Services Portfolio Technical Management and Strategic Solutioning Support (HTMS) program. This full‑time role offers a competitive salary of $116,941 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases in accordance with VA release management policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and stakeholder teams to ensure release readiness and compliance.
• Maintain release documentation, risk assessments, and post‑release reports.
• Manage release calendars, communicate timelines, and resolve conflicts or dependencies.
• Monitor release performance, track issues, and drive continuous improvement of the release process.
• Provide guidance on best practices for configuration management, version control, and deployment automation.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
• Proven experience as a Release Manager or similar role in a federal or large‑scale IT environment.
• Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM frameworks and release lifecycle management.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control (e.g., Git), and automated deployment tools.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while meeting strict deadlines.
