Release Manager (Remote)

GovCIO is seeking an experienced Release Manager to work remotely for the Health Services Portfolio Technical Management and Strategic Solutioning Support (HTMS) program at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This fully remote role is based in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, US, with a fixed annual salary of $92,974.77.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage software release cycles in accordance with VA policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure release readiness and compliance.
• Maintain release documentation, schedules, and risk assessments.
• Facilitate release reviews, post‑implementation validations, and lessons‑learned sessions.
• Monitor release metrics and provide status reporting to stakeholders.
• Support change management processes and ensure alignment with IT governance.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
• Proven experience as a Release Manager or in a similar role within a federal or large‑scale IT environment.
• Strong knowledge of release management tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting and adapt to evolving client needs.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting healthcare or veteran services IT programs.
• Familiarity with VA OIT standards and federal acquisition regulations.
