Job Summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced Release Manager to work remotely for its Health Services Portfolio Technical Management and Strategic Solutioning Support (HTMS) program within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This fully remote role is based in Boise, Ada County, US, with a salary of $94,075 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage software releases following VA’s established processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure release readiness and compliance.
• Maintain release calendars, track milestones, and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve release‑related issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare and maintain release documentation, including release notes, back‑out plans, and post‑release reports.
• Support configuration management and version control activities.
• Facilitate release retrospectives and incorporate lessons learned into future cycles.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
• Proven experience as a Release Manager or in a similar role within a federal or large‑scale IT environment.
• Strong understanding of ITIL/DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and change management.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Git, Jenkins, or comparable platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
